2. Image transmission from mobile objects

Radio channel for transmitting video information consists of a mobile transmitting part (e.g., aboard the flying vehicle including a pilotless one), and receiving part (being a member of equipment based on automobile or fixed object) (see Fig.1).

The transmitting part consists of:
• information source with the PAL video signal;
• information source with the PAL video signal; – compression H.261rate 1.544 Mbpsencoding type D4(SF),
            code type AMI or B8ZSresolution CIF;
• radio modem (transmitter);
• conical helix antenna having directivity ~ 3 dB.

The receiving part consists of:
• antenna having directivity ~ 15 dB;
• radio modem (receiver);
• signal decoder;
• monitor and information storage device.

The supposed parameters of channel are shown in the Table 1:

In the proposed radio channel for transmitting video information using the new modem technology, the best use of technical characteristics of apparatus being produced is achieved, including increase of communication range at the given error probability level.
